Please scroll to the bottom before going to the questionnaire.
1. Scope
This questionnaire and the resulting analysis offer a mechanistic reading of your situation when sitting, based solely on the information you provide.
2. Purpose
The aim is to better understand the mechanisms that may keep up or worsen discomfort or pain when sitting, and to point you toward a suitable Aporia® seating solution.
3. Aporia® bioactive seats
Aporia® seats are active ergonomic products designed to support the body’s capacity to adapt to sitting through three combined actions: functional mobility of the pelvis, dynamic postural balancePostural balancePostural balance is the ability to keep or restore the projection of the center of mass within the base of support, both at rest and in motion. When sitting, it involves the trunk, the pelvis and the hips.Read the full entry : Postural balance, and multi-zone support that helps the tissues glide.
4. Limits of the analysis
This analysis is based on self-reported information that may be influenced by your personal perception or by certain contextual factors. It is neither a medical diagnosis nor a treatment prescription. Aporia® is not a medical device.
5. Caution and confidentiality
If your pain is severe or persistent, we recommend seeing a qualified healthcare professional. The information you provide is treated in strict confidence. The analysis is written in English.
Location / side
Describe precisely every area affected by the pain
(e.g. tailbone, anus, perineumPerineumThe perineum is the region at the lower part of the pelvis, between the thighs. It includes skin, muscle, fascial, vascular and nerve structures, and it is also an area that may bear load when sitting.Read the full entry : Perineum, buttock, hip, lower back, leg…).
Say whether the pain is on the right, on the left, central (midline)
or on both sides.
Also describe what the pain feels like
(burning, pressure, electric shock, foreign-body sensation,
pulling, numbness…) and when it appears
(on getting up, after 20 minutes of sitting, after a bowel movement, at the end of the day…).
Intensity (0–10)
Rate the average and maximum intensity on a scale of 0 to 10.
You can explain in the pain description box if this intensity varies, for example: “4/10 in the morning, 7/10 after 20 minutes of sitting”.
Aggravating factors
List the positions, postures, movements or situations that make the pain worse:
sitting (how long without pain?), bending forward,
leaning sideways, prolonged standing, walking, driving,
bowel movements, end of the day, stress…
Relieving factors
Say what relieves your pain: standing, lying on your stomach
or on your side, heat, cold, sitting on the toilet,
massage, movement, changing position…
